There is a very famous book by Malcolm Gladwell titled “Blink”. Some of you may have read this book and some of you may have not, either way, it is worth your time to do so. The gist of it is, there are inherent ‘knowings’ of something good and something fake, and all it takes is just one quick glance. I look forward to this feeling when I look over a piece of art or a machine. There is something that just rings true and your gut tells you so.
Have you ever been drawn to an object but you are not sure exactly why? Was it the color or shape? Did it remind you of something? I named this site RetroLust for a reason. Lust is more than something physical. It’s part of your core; your mechanical soul.
Not only do I have a passion for old motorcycles but I also have a passion for classic bicycles or, for that matter, any two wheeled transportation. Take a look at the detailed pictures I took of an early 1900 Harley Davidson track bike that I found at auction recently.
This bike has wood rims, cool by any standard. Note the great color, classic. But what stood out to me was the custom chainring with the ‘H-D’ letters as part or the structure of the component! Bad Ass!
Please post your favorite things that catch your attention, I love this stuff!
